How I have changed my perception towards a degree pursui

It was back in the year 2008, where I have just finished my Business Foundation in Taylor’s University College. I was invited by a friend of the same course to a “business opportunity” which deals with Islamic insurance product, or Takaful as it is known. From there I was introduced to an important mentor that had taught me various knowledge as well as life lessons, which has led to an important change in me. My mentor would always comment on how useless a degree would be, and about the amount of graduates struggling to find work ultimately only pays peanuts in return. Slowly and steadily, I was led to believe that a degree was only but a passport that would lead you to where the corporate ladder was, that it was just a piece of paper that proves no other additional merit. Many years later to the present, being a sales advisor for automaker Toyota, it dawned upon me that any managerial position would require a degree as a minimum prerequisite. Thus, I joined Inti’s evening class as I would be entitled for a discount as my sister was also working there.

Being taught by Dr. Tan in the Business Professional course can be considered as an eye opening event in my degree pursuit. Frankly, it wasn’t much about the slides or the lessons taught, but it was more about how Dr. Tan taught us about the different ways that we can use to approach certain issues, and how we can tackle assignments and case studies effectively. His class are different from others and actually energizes us mentally. I can actually find myself to have more fun in degree classes.

Optimistic and pessimistic

People always say, try to be a little bit more optimistic and positive, good things will come to those that believe very much that they can achieve it.
Needless to say, when comparing between being optimistic and being pessimistic, of course an optimist would be better than a pessimist.

Now then, do you agree that being optimistic also means expecting something good and better to happen to oneself?
Maybe they're both different things, but there's a simple link between the two.
When you're optimistic, you tend to expect better things to happen to you later in life..
And of course in contrast pessimistic people would expect less good things and more conflicts in their paths.

It's true that being optimistic would make people happier in some way, and pessimistic people tend to be sadder although they're not in a situation that they should be worrying about anything at all.

Hmm, but lets take a look at the other side.

An optimist would probably be more active, happy, and outgoing in certain stuff with positive power in their mind. Thus, things would usually be better for them.
But what if some things, that're unpredictable and uncontrollable happens?
When you're being optimistic about certain things, and there're some things that you're powerless against, things that you're doomed to fail at, what would happen?
There's a saying, the greater the expectations, the greater the disappointment.
There may people that's soooooooo optimistic that they'll keep continuing being positive..
But how many of us are capable of being like that?
Especially when things that you want the most... can't be attained at all.. even though hard efforts and sacrifices are done and made?
What if it didn't happen just once, but many times more?

Is it safe to assume that some optimist are just being ignorant of their current condition? Especially to those that encountered multiple failures..
Being happy at all times?
What a joke.

I'm not saying being pessimistic is good either.. Some people that're so pessimistic they let go of things they could've obtain and achieve..
But then, since they're already so negative before shits happen, they probably won't be that down when it actually happens..

So, it's probably true that when you ask people to be more optimistic, you're indirectly telling them to expect better things, which would most likely affect them greatly when they experience a downfall..

Summing it up, being neutral is probably the best choice..
Do more, complain less, and expect less than others.

Smile.

Just a pretty short entry..
Do you believe that some people smile better when they're at their saddest moments?
It's a weird question... but what do you think about it?

Reasons

Why must everything be so complicated?
Why? Instead of finding reasons NOT to love, why can't we find ways to make it work out?
Should we commit ourselfs only after we're sure that we can last till marriage?
Should we think about all possible obstacles before taking the first step?

If people don't take risks, they're taking a greater risk.

I'm powerless because of this, but it's a risk i'm willing to take, because of those three words.

Pressure ar~

Wahsai~ For the past few days there's so many pressures building up in me..
Studies + Exam + Retarded thoughts + 'that'..
Can't believe for a brief moment there i've considered taking up smoking to relieve it..
But i guess that's just escaping those pressures.

Staying home alone is so dangerous sia...
Stupid thoughts will fill the mind and eventually you'll find yourself sad for no particular reason at all..

Mid semester is just around the corner and i'm still playing games like i'm enjoying my holidays o.O~
Well, what can I say? Procrastination is something i do best :D

Hohoh, before I go gaming at gg client~ I just wanna say

Valentine's day.

Valentine's day is coming~

I would've forgotten about it if it weren't for people talking about it sooo much~ o.o..
Seems like guys with a gal needs to brainstorm for ideas to satisfy their gf's super hopeful heart of getting a romantic something from their guys.
Well yeah, good luck to em. They'd probably need it.

But i think it's quite strange~~
Maybe i've been watching too many dramas/animes/mangas and all, but i thought the ones that should give the partner something in a relationship should've been the girls..
And 1 month after that which is the white day, then only it's the guys turn to give back the girls something...
But strangely, girls usually almost give nothing to the guy at all!!! And guys that doesn't do something good for the girl in Valentine's day will usually be critized..

Sucks right? Lol.

But i won't have to worry bout that anyways =x

This might be early, but have a good time to those planning to celebrate Valentine's day~
I'd probably be revising for my mid semester finals during that time.. T.T

Peace out~
